CF Evans Welcomes Vice President of Operations, Michael Spafford
CF Evans is proud to announce the newest addition to our leadership team: Michael Spafford, Vice President of Operations.
With more than 35 years in the construction industry, Michael brings a wealth of experience in multifamily development across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. His portfolio includes a wide range of projects—from one-story garden-style communities to 12-story urban developments with deep foundations and structured parking. Known for his ability to navigate complexity and deliver consistent results, Michael is a hands-on leader with a strategic mindset.
His journey in construction began at age six, when his father—himself a carpentry contractor—dropped off a truckload of scrap lumber and said, “Build something.” His mom added, “Plan it first.” That blend of initiative and intentionality has guided Michael ever since.
Throughout his career, he has revitalized companies, led high-performing teams, and developed projects in nearly every sector—from affordable housing to luxury multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and residential. He’s known not just for what he builds, but how he builds—prioritizing integrity, mentorship, and a deep focus on growing talent and strengthening culture, making him the perfect fit for the team at CF Evans.
Outside of the office, Michael and his wife Wendy—married for 37 years and still best friends—enjoy life near the coast and on the lake. They have three children, two of whom have followed in his footsteps as an Estimator and Project Manager. He’s also a proud dog dad to a Great Dane named Rico and continues to check adventures off a bucket list he started in 2008.
