SC Episcopal Home at Still Hopes
West Columbia, South Carolina
Still Hopes' recent major expansion of independent living unit (ILU) capacity was strategically designed both to add larger, more contemporary residences and to achieve greater balance between its independent living and health services components. The project also improved and expanded dining venues and community spaces. A non'profit corporation, Still Hopes secured a $43 million South Carolina Jobs'Economic Development Authority Residential Care Facilities First Mortgage Revenue Bond offering as its primary source of funds for the construction of this 246,000 SF project. Some of the project's more notable components are: two mid'rise ILU buildings, 5' and 6'story, home to 125 new residences; casual "bistro" dining area and terrace; expanded kitchen and new community spaces. Still Hopes continues to create an enriched retirement lifestyle which meets the growing demand for wellness'based activities.

"The preconstruction techniques used throughout the pricing phases worked very well. C. F. Evans facilitated the whole process, which gives us lots of direct contact with subcontractors and helped us identify the scope of the project during design phase, rather than after its completion."
